What if a thousand zombies raided downtown Chicago? Yeah, that's what we had in mind...
Dress-up and make-up as your favorite undead and come to Chicago's first-ever zombie walk! These things have happened all over the U.S. and Canada, but never in our lovely city. We look to change that..
Saturday, June 21, 2008
Please RSVP on our Facebook event page so we have a loose idea of how many will show and can plan accordingly, and mark your calendars for the 21st of June!
We strongly encourage you to leave any suggestions or comments you may have on the boards, so we can incorporate them into our outline of the event and any subsequent meetings.
The more people the better, so invite your friends too! Invite the people you hang out with! Help us break the record of 1,125 zombies!
You can see a couple of Chad Savage's zombie paintings along with zombie works by artists like Gary Pullin, Jeff Zornow and many others at the MF Gallery in NYC - http://www.mfgallery.net - opening reception this Saturday, April 12th at 7:00 pm. Free beer for all zombies! 157 Rivington.
Win FREE passes to the Chicago screening of DIARY OF THE DEAD!
ChicagoHorror.com has been given 15 pairs of passes to a preview screening of George Romero's newest zombie movie Diary of the Dead and to celebrate, we're having a Zombie Photo Contest!
Send in a photo (or photos) of yourself in your Zombie Finest by February 12th. 15 winners will be chosen from the photos submitted and given tickets and posters for the advance screening - we can't post specifics about the screening, but are awaiting permission to post the date so you can plan around it.
Photos should be sent to savage@chicagohorror.com. All entries will be posted to this site after the 12th. Photos may either be sent as an attachment to an email, or you may send links to your pix. If you send links, MAKE SURE that they work - if your MySpace profile is set to private, sending a photo link won't work, and your entry will be deleted.
Winners will be announced on the 13th and given the specifics of the screening.

A gore-tastic film season of flesh tearing, gut-wrenching zombie horrors, hand picked by author and undead expert Max Brooks, author of "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War."
Due to time constraints, ridiculous amounts of spamming, and other factors, the ZombiePinups.com Message Board has been moved to my master message board at SinisterSpooks.com, where I can better monitor it. Same rules, same message board - just new location.
If you were a member of the old board, sign up for the new one! SinisterSpooks.com is the general forum for all of my Sinister Circuit projects, including ZPU.
Photos that had been posted to the old message board have been posted in the ZPU Gallery!
"Moore's girlfriend discovered Paxton Gate, a gallery on Valencia that features Sartorial Creatures by artist Monique Motil. The animal skeletons dressed in elaborate period costumes became characters in Moore's novel: A Buddhist priest, who has learned the art of transferring souls, animates the creatures with the help of chunks of ham."
Rock on, Monique! Who knew ham held the key to revivification?
The ZPU Gallery now has its own subsection showcasing the Zombie Pinups, both known and unknown, who turned up at TransWorld's 11th Annual Haunted Attractions Show - check'em out HERE.
While you're at it, check out Dead Marilyn's wicked hot autopsy photos!
At select points during the exhibition/show, we'll have a Genuine Zombie Pinup (Darth Kitty) in attendance for fun and photo-ops!
I'll be there promoting Sinister Visions' haunted attraction art and design work, and with Scott Jackson will be previewing select artwork from the Halloween Art Exhibit for show attendees. Besides my own artwork and Scott's, we'll have Eric Pigors, Steve Gilberts, Devon Devereaux and the work of several more HAE alumnus. Booths 6326 & 6328 - if you're attending, come by and see us!
For those who can't get into the tradeshow proper (it's not open to the public - just industry), there are still plenty of spooky peripheral events happening this weekend. Visit TransWorldSocialEvents.com for some of the pre-show and evening excursions that have been planned. Or, if you just like haunted house people, come up to the Crowne Plaza Hotel bar on Thursday, Friday or Saturday night and Hang with the Haunters, as that tends to be the congregation point for the weekend (most of the haunt/Halloween exhibitors and attendess stay at the Crowne Plaza).
You can also check out the in-the-process-of-being-expanded-and-revamped-website for the Halloween Art Exhibit at HalloweenArtExhibit.com.
